Sodium Phosphate Monobasic USP
Abstract
Sodium Phosphate Monobasic, also known as anhydrous monobasic sodium phosphate and sodium dihydrogen phosphate, is an organic compound of sodium with dihydrogen phosphate (H2PO4−) anion. One of many sodium phosphates, it is a common industrial chemical. It exists as an anhydrous salt, as well as monohydrates and dihydrates.
Use/Application
Sodium Phosphate monobasic is often used in foods and in water treatment. The pH of such formulations is generally adjusted by mixtures of various sodium phosphates, such as this salt. It is added in animal feed, toothpaste, and evaporated milk. It is used as a thickening agent and emulsifier. It is used to detect the presence of magnesium ions in salts.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
