Sodium Bicarbonate BP
Abstract:
Sodium bicarbonate (IUPAC name: sodium hydrogen carbonate), commonly known as baking soda, is a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline, but often appears as a fine powder.
Uses/Applications:
In cooking, baking soda is primarily used in baking as a leavening agent. It has a role as an antacid and a food anticaking agent.
