Sodium Acetate IP
Abstract:
Sodium Acetate also known as sodium ethanoate is the sodium salt of acetic acid. It occurs as a colorless, deliquescent salt and is prepared from glacial acetic acid and sodium hydroxide.
Use/Application:
Sodium Acetate is used in the textile industry and as a pickling agent in chrome tanning. It is also used a pickling agent in chrome tanning, in mitigating water damage, as a food additive for seasoning purposes. It is also used in buffer solutions and in heating pads, hand warmers and hot ice.
