(a) Melting Point (109 °C to 112 °C.)

(b) Specified Test. An intense, deep-red color develops which becomes pale yellow on the addition of a slight excess of hydrochloric acid R

(c) Specified Test. The solution shows an intense green fluorescence.

Solubility Very soluble in water and in alcohol
Appearance of solution Solution  is clear and not more intensely colored than reference solution B5 or R5 and remains so when heated in a water-bath for 5 min.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing

It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
