Mono- and Di-glycerides USP

Abstract
Mono- and Di-glycerides is a mixture of glycerol mono- and di-esters, with minor amounts of tri-esters, of fatty acids from edible oils. These synthetic fats are produced from glycerol and natural fatty acids, from either plant or animal origin. E471 is generally a mixture of several products, and its composition is similar to partially digested natural fat.

Use/Application
Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids (E471) is a food additive used as an emulsifier.

Identity
Chemical Name: Mono- and Di-glycerides
