Magnesium Sulphate IP
Abstract
Magnesium Sulphate heptahydrate also known as Epsom salt is an important inorganic salt that is on the list of WHO Model List of Essential Medicines.
Use/Application
Magnesium Sulphate is used for pharmaceutical preparation of magnesium. Epsom salt is used as bath salts and for isolation tanks while oral magnesium sulphate is commonly used as saline laxative or osmotic purgative. It is also used to maintain magnesium concentration in marine aquaria and as a brewing salt in beer production.
