Glacial Acetic Acid IP

General Specifications

What is glacial acetic acid

Chemical formula:  CH3COOH

Anhydrous (glacial) acetic acid is a Colorless hygroscopic liquid or Colorless crystals with a sharp unpleasant odor. Glacial acetic acid is used for the synthesis of various dyes, as well as for the production of cellulose acetate and acetone. In the form of vinegar, acetic essence, glacial acid is also used in the food industry. It is noteworthy that in everyday life it is used for cooking. Acetic acid mixes perfectly with H2O, ethyl alcohol, diethyl ether in all proportions and ratios. It is noteworthy that it is obtained by fermentation of certain organic substances, or by synthesis. It is important to note that acetic (glacial) acid is found in the products of dry distillation of wood.
