Borax also known as Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate crystals are odorless, white, monoclinic prisms. A very pure grade of borax can be produced by reacting refined boric acid with hot NaOH solution and crystallizing the resulting borax.
Borax is used in various household laundry and cleaning products. Borax is also present in some tooth bleaching formulas. It is also an active ingredient in indoor and outdoor ant baits and killers and used for killing cockroaches. Sodium borate is used in biochemical and chemical laboratories to make buffers, as a water softening agent, as a flux when welding iron and steel and as a food additive in some countries. It is used as a component of glass, pottery and ceramics and as a fire retardant. It is used as a micro nutrient fertilizer to correct boron deficient salts and is found in some commercial vitamin supplements.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
